Time will tell if OG is KO’d from the New York Knicks’ ongoing playoff series with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Multiple reports state that guard OG Anunoby endured a hamstring strain toward the end of the Knicks’ Game 2 showdown with the Sixers on Wednesday night. Considered day-to-day, Anunoby is set to be listed as questionable for Game 3 on Friday, which will see the series shift to Philadelphia (7 p.m. ET, Prime Video).
According to SNY’s Ian Begley, there is optimism that Anunoby will play either Game 3 or Game 4 in Philadelphia.

New York leads the best-of-seven set 2-0 after picking up another victory at Madison Square Garden, this being a 108-102 final.
Anunoby’s two-way breakout has fueled what appears to be the Knicks’ most realistic case for postseason glory in quite some time. During the Knicks’ active five-game winning streak, Anunoby has posted the second-best net rating among all Association playoff participants in that span, behind only the returning Jalen Williams of Oklahoma City (who has appeared in just two games thus far).
In Wednesday’s win, Anunoby lacked the three-point prowess he displayed in his recent postseason outings (2-of-7 after going 64 percent in his prior quartet) but still put up 24 points. He left the game in the final stages of the fourth quarter of Game 2, pulling up somewhat limp on a drive to the basket while the Knicks were putting the finishing touches on their narrow yet emphatic victory.
Ugh… looks like a right hamstring injury for OG Anunoby.

The day-to-day diagnosis is perhaps the best-case scenario the Knicks were hoping for after Anunoby’s departure rendered the victory relatively bittersweet. New York knows just how damaging an Anunoby hamstring can be.
A similar ailment changed the course of the Knicks’ 2024 semifinals series against Indiana, one that saw New York lose a 2-0 lead en route to a seven-game defeat. Anunoby missed four games after the injury before briefly returning in the finale, where he was too injured to contribute. Anunoby also missed several weeks due to a hamstring issue earlier this season.
If Anunoby is out, the Knicks would likely offer an extended opportunity to Miles McBride. That would force them to go with a smaller lineup, though McBride’s similar skillset would probably be the best way to make up for a potential Anunoby departure. Anunoby wasn’t the only New Yorker missing from Wednesday’s win, as towering depth star Mitchell Robinson was forced to skip it entirely due to an illness.
