Kyle Kuzma had his best game as a member of the Washington Wizards on Monday night, leading the team to a 124-121 win over the Charlotte Hornets with 36 points, six assists, and 14 rebounds.
Kuzma, 26, was especially effective late, drilling three three-pointers in the last three minutes of the game to secure the win.
"I'm just ready for it. I've been blessed to play in some pretty meaningful games in this league so far over the past two years and -- just that championship DNA that I have -- I know when it's fourth quarter time, it's winning time," Kuzma said in a postgame interview with NBC Sports Washington. "That's what I learned the past two years and I just try to take it with me. I thrive in those moments. They're moments I look for and moments I want."
Kuzma began his career in 2017 with the Los Angeles Lakers and won a championship with the team in 2020. After four seasons with the Lakers, Kuzma was traded to the Wizards as part of a package that sent Russell Westbrook to Los Angeles.
Along with Kuzma's strong showing, the Wizards got 35 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists from veteran guard Bradley Beal. The team improved to 19-18 with the win.
