Kyrie Irving has openly pitched ANTA as the “best brand” for Steph Curry as speculation grows around the Warriors star’s footwear future.
Recent buzz intensified after Steph Curry became the first NBA player outside of Kyrie Irving to wear the ANTA KAI 3, a move that quickly caught attention across the sneaker world.
With Curry currently a sneaker free agent, that appearance has only fueled rumors that he could consider signing with ANTA.
The idea of two of the generation’s most influential point guards aligning off the court has now become a genuine talking point.
Speaking to Andscape, Kyrie Irving said: “I’m grateful to Steph. Organically, he ended up reaching out to the brand since he’s a free agent.
“It was legendary, because we’re two competitors, two point guards, where our branding … sometimes we’ve been aligned, sometimes not, and we go at each other.”
Irving’s comments confirm that dialogue has at least taken place, even if informally.
Given Curry’s stature in the sneaker industry and his history of competing directly with Irving, the possibility of collaboration would represent a significant shift in the basketball endorsement landscape.
Kyrie Irving reinforced his pitch by stating: “But I feel like [at ANTA], we’re making that mark, where not only are we gonna say we have great product, but we have the community to match it, as well, to follow us through.”
“I’d love to have Steph on the brand. I’m just throwing it out there, man. We have the best product out there, the best brand,” Irving concluded.
As ANTA’s chief creative officer for basketball, Irving is positioning the company as more than just an equipment provider. His emphasis on community and long-term vision suggests he sees Curry not only as an athlete endorser but as a cultural fit.
Whether the speculation materialises into a formal partnership remains uncertain. However, Curry wearing the ANTA KAI 3 and his current free agent status ensure that the rumors will continue to build momentum.
