One LA Clippers player is looking forward to playing with Bradley Beal next season and believes the LA Clippers can thrive where the Phoenix Suns couldn’t.
The LA Clippers made a lot of big changes during this offseason, as they looked to bolster their roster after a disappointing first-round exit.
One of their major moves was signing Bradley Beal to the Clippers after his Phoenix Suns buyout, filling their backcourt vacancy left by the Norman Powell-John Collins trade.
Beal had a disastrous run with the Phoenix Suns, where he played for two seasons alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
But one of his LA Clippers teammates, Ivica Zubac, believes that won’t happen on the LA Clippers, and it was partly the Suns’ fault that the big three experiment failed.
Ivica Zubac spoke to The Underground Lounge at LA Clippers’ media day. When discussing the arrival of Bradley Beal, Zubac made some interesting comments.
He praised Beal’s historic scoring ability. But when it came to the Phoenix Suns, Beal didn’t have a natural point guard to set him up, taking a sly dig at Devin Booker, who deputized in the role.
“Bradley was a 30-point scorer, an All-Star, like he didn’t forget how to do all that stuff, it’s just all about scenarios, all about situations.
“It was not the best situation for him in Phoenix; he didn’t have a real point guard, I feel like over there, and over here, he got one or two of the best in the game.
“They’re gonna make life so much easier for him. He did well with John Wall and with Russell Westbrook in Washington.
“He played his best basketball. I think this is gonna be a great situation for him and he’s gonna help us a lot.”
The LA Clippers are taking a chance on Bradley Beal, who has dipped in form over the last few years during his time with the Phoenix Suns.
Beal himself admitted to having a new hunger with the Clippers, something he felt that he didn’t have while playing for the Suns.
Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker didn’t gel well together, which is why their star-studded trio failed to live up to expectations.
Now that he is on the Clippers, he must show that he can be that elite two-way player that we knew him to be during his time on the Washington Wizards.
