Your Los Angeles Lakers have always been one of the premiere franchises in the NBA. Typically, when it comes time to assess the asset, LA slots in right behind the New York Knicks as the most valuable club in the league.
That is no longer the case, per Kurt Badenhausen of Sportico.
Wildly, the Knicks aren't even the most valuable NBA franchise anymore. That honor now applies to the Golden State Warriors, winners of four of the last nine league titles. Golden State also enjoys the unique distinction of existing at the hub of the tech industry in San Francisco, a rampant center for speculative investments. The Sacramento Kings, just a bit south of the Dubs in the state's capital, are considered to be worth a "scant" $2.03 billion. That tally pales in comparison to the Warriors' $8.28 billion sticker price.
New York is said to be worth $7.43 billion, second-best in the league. The Lakers come in third, at $7.34 billion.
