The Los Angeles Lakers are signing free agent forward Jake LaRavia to a two-year, $12 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Earlier, the Lakers lost forward Dorian Finney-Smith to the Houston Rockets in free agency — so LaRavia could have an opportunity at minutes right away.
Dan Woike of The Athletic referred to LaRavia as the “top wing target” in L.A. once it became known that Finney-Smith would sign elsewhere.
LaRavia, 23, is 6-foot-8 and spent his first two-plus seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies before being acquired by the Sacramento Kings at the trade deadline. He averaged 6.1 points and shot 38.5% on 3-pointers in 19 games with the Kings.
For the season, LaRavia averaged 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 66 total appearances.
