Lakers Aiming to Re-Sign Dennis Schroder
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Lakers intend to try to re-sign guard Dennis Schroder, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Schroder, 29, came on strong in the second half of last season, his second in three years in LA. In fact, you can make the case Schroder was better the second time around, averaging 12.6 points and 4.5 assists in 66 games.

He also served as a bit of a disruptor in the playoffs, pushing the pace and making some veteran plays.

Along with Schroder, the Lakers intend to bring back restricted free agent guard Austin Reaves and forward Rui Hachimura, as well as guard D’Angelo Russell, as we relayed here. Like Schroder, Russell is an unrestricted free agent.

GM Rob Pelinka indicated the Lakers intend to run it back with the key players from last season’s team, adding around the edges.

The Lakers have also been linked to Nuggets free agent guard Bruce Brown and former Clippers guard Eric Gordon in recent days.

They reportedly are parting ways with center Mo Bamba and shooting guard Malik Beasley, as we relayed here. Both Bamba and Beasley could be re-signed as well, Stein noted.
