Lakers' Anthony Davis: 'I should be good to go' for key matchup against Trail Blazers

After exiting in the first half of Thursday's 118-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with back spasms, Los Angeles Laker star Anthony Davis says he's planning to be in the lineup for Friday's pivotal matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Davis said he's feeling better after receiving treatment.

Thursday's loss dropped the Lakers one game back of the fifth-seeded Dallas Mavericks. L.A. remains the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-29 record and could be forced to compete in the play-in tournament if the seventh-place Trail Blazers rise in the standings.

With only six games remaining in the regular season and Friday's tilt being of the utmost importance, Davis realizes how important it is that he steps onto the court.

The 28-year-old recently returned from Achilles tendinosis and a calf strain and has been solid for the Lakers this season, averaging 20.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 49.8% from the field and 26.2% from deep.
