Lakers eyeing Quin Snyder as possible Frank Vogel replacement?
Quin Snyder would be a hot commodity if he left the Jazz. Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Frank Vogel remains firmly on the hot seat as head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, and the team could make a change after the season. If the Lakers do, they may be eyeing the coach of a Western Conference rival as a possible replacement.

Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder is viewed as a “probable candidate” for the Lakers job if it opens up, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein. Snyder has worked for the Lakers before, spending one year as an assistant coach for the team under Mike Brown.

The question of Snyder’s actual availability remains unanswered. While the terms of his contract are unknown, the Jazz do have Snyder signed for next season. However, Stein reports that the Jazz have so far failed to get him to agree to another extension of his deal, sparking rumors that he could be available. That will become even more true if the Jazz underwhelm in the playoffs.

The Lakers are not the only team thought to be eyeing Snyder as a long-term option, so they may have to act fast if they feel they can get him.
