Los Angeles Lakers fans think former Tennessee Vols guard Dalton Knecht was disrespected this week.
Knecht, who just wrapped up his rookie season with the Lakers, wasn't named to either the first-team or the second-team All-Rookie teams that were announced on Tuesday.
2024-2025 NBA All-Rookie teams:

First team: Stephon Castle, Zaccharie Risacher, Jaylen Wells, Zach Edey, Alex Sarr
Second team: Matas Buzelis, Bub Carrington, Donovan Clingan, Kel’el Ware, Yves Missi
Knecht put up similar numbers to several players that were on the All-Rookie second team (though a couple of the players averaged more rebounds per game than Knecht).

Knecht was in a tough spot due to playing behind LeBron James and Austin Reaves (as well as Luka Doncic for the second half of the season).
The former Vol, however, shined on several occasions. Knecht scored 37 points against the Utah Jazz in November (less than a month into his rookie season). And he scored 32 points against a full-strength Denver Nuggets squad in March. Knecht had seven games as a rookie where he scored at least 20 points.
The only reason Knecht didn't make one of the All-Rookie teams was because of uneven playing time -- something that was completely out of his control (Lakers head coach JJ Redick utilized some bizarre rotations at times this past season).
Knecht should be as motivated as ever to proved the doubters wrong next season.
