Lakers Fans Can't Believe Malik Beasley Will Be Teammates With Scotty Pippen Jr. After Dating His Mom Larsa In The Past
Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

Malik Beasley will be now be on the same team as Scotty Pippen Jr. after the Lakers acquired him and fans are questioning how it will be since he dated Larsa Pippen.

Storylines in the NBA never cease to amaze, however bizarre they get from time to time. This trade deadline has been a massive one already, with Kyrie Irving and then Kevin Durant both being traded away by the Brooklyn Nets. But for Los Angeles Lakers fans, one trade was bigger than them all, with the team moving on from Russell Westbrook and landing D'Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley in return.

This trade is exciting for various basketball reasons, and fans love that the team is finally getting some help for LeBron James. But there is a second narrative to this. Larsa Pippen has been spoken about a lot in recent months since it became apparent that she was involved with Michael Jordan's son, Marcus. Well, her son, Scotty Pippen Jr. plays for the Lakers, and her dating history will now make things a little weird for him.

Malik Beasley and Larsa Pippen were together for a while in 2020, and their relationship didn't please a lot of people. Scottie himself called Beasley a loser in a message to Larsa after Beasley was sentenced to prison over a gun charge. And at the time, Scotty Pippen Jr. had also made it clear he wanted nothing to do with the situation. So with the two becoming teammates, there is a lot of chatter online.

Lakers Fans Think Things Between Malik Beasley And Scotty Pippen Jr. Will Be Awkward

It's hard to think of something more bizarre than working with a colleague that has been in a relationship with your mother. And while Scotty Jr. and Beasley are both professionals, things are bound to be a bit awkward still. At least, that's what fans on social media seem to think.

"Let the games begin."

"This is going to be the most awkward thing ever."

"Yo Scotty Jr. don't deserve this man."

"If Beasley makes threes regularly, I'll beef with Scotty for him."

"Script is getting crazy."

"This is so wild bruh."

"Larsa really got no boundaries."

"Man, this better not mess anything up for the Lakers."

"It's ok, Scotty barely play."

"It don't matter, we only bout the chip now."

While the situation is surely less than ideal, the truth remains that the Lakers will be looking more toward winning it all than anything else. Having moved on from Russell Westbrook and acquired 3 immediate impact players for their roster, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the team will be focused on making it back to the NBA Finals after 2020.
