The Los Angeles Lakers are “in talks” to get another center after signing Deandre Ayton , according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Lakers have been linked to Al Horford , who is a free agent, and Phoenix Suns big man Nick Richards

Ayton has agreed to a two-year contract with the Lakers. The deal is for two years and $16.6 million. Between the Portland Trail Blazers and Lakers, Ayton will make $34 million next season.

Ayton has career averages of 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds. He helped the Phoenix Suns reach the NBA Finals in 2021.

The Lakers lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in five games. Jaxson Hayes was benched for the second half of Game 4 and all of Game 5.
