LeBron James missed the start of the 2025-26 NBA season due to sciatica, but he has since made his way back. In four games with the Los Angeles Lakers so far, he has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.0 steal.
The Lakers star did miss Sunday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, which saw the team improve to 15-4 after winning its seventh straight game. Without James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves led the way, combining for 67 points, 17 rebounds and 15 assists in a 133-121 victory.
Despite his absence, however, James still made headlines with his actions off the court and away from the NBA.
Earlier in the day, Slam gave a peek at the new jerseys of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School for the Chosen 1's Invitation. As NBA fans would know, St. Vincent-St. Mary is the high school that James attended before he made the jump to the pros.
According to Slam's post, it was James who gifted the jerseys to his old high school. The Lakers star shared the post himself on his Instagram Stories.

The jerseys show the initials "STVM" for the name of the high school. On the numbers, the phrase "Together we rise" is printed. By the looks of it, the players were also given the LeBron XXII shoes, as well as other custom Nike gear.
It should be noted that the Chosen 1's Invitational is a basketball tournament hosted by James and Nike. According to Nike, it will be held in Queens, New York, Los Angeles, California and Akron, Ohio from Dec. 10 to 14.
