The Los Angeles Lakers can boast about having an All-Star starter in Luka Doncic. The NBAannounced the Western Conference All-Star starters on Monday. Together with Doncic, the lineup featured Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs).
Doncic has been one of the best players for the Lakers this season. Through 33 games, he's averaged 33.3 points (leads the league), 7.5 rebounds and 8.6 assists. The star guard has proven to be a superstar in the NBA.
Doncic is also No. 3 on the recent MVP Ladder. His outstanding performance has helped the Lakers snatch a 25-16 record.
After the NBA announced that Doncic had been voted to his sixth All-Star selection, he expressed his gratitude on Instagram. The Lakers star posted fan art and fan edits to show his appreciation to his loyal fans.
"My 6th All-Star. What an honor. I wanted to share my 6 favorite pieces of fan art this season. Thank you for voting and creating " Doncic posted.
Because he didn't play much for the Dallas Mavericks last season, he wasn't selected as an All-Star. Doncic appeared in only 22 games for the Mavericks due to a calf strain. The European star averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists during that stretch. Even with that, he didn't get enough votes from fans to be an All-Star starter. The star also missed a chance to be a reserve.
It's different this year as he's back in the All-Star Game, which will take place in Los Angeles. Fans will see him put on a show on February 15 at the Intuit Dome.
