Lakers Make Bronny James Announcement After Absence From NBA Game

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, has appeared in nine NBA games this season. Totaling just four points, three assists, and one rebound in 22 NBA minutes, James has almost exclusively appeared in games that were already decided.

Getting some extended run in the G League, James has also made nine appearances for the South Bay Lakers. In his nine G League games, James has averaged 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 26.9 minutes per contest.

South Bay played the Indiana Mad Ants on Tuesday night, falling by a final score of 111-102. While James has appeared in three G League road games, he was not with South Bay for its contest in Indiana.

On Tuesday evening, the Lakers announced James is still with the NBA club, but is questionable for Wednesday night's game against the Miami Heat due to an illness.

This announcement from the team comes after James missed Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs.

As it pertains to James' status, the questionable listing is a better than being ruled out a day in advance. It has only been a one-game absence for James so far, as he appeared in LA's 118-97 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 7 at American Airlines Center.

Playing another road game against the Stockton Kings on Jan. 22, South Bay returns home on Jan. 24 to host the Rip City Remix. It seems James could rejoin the team for that matchup, if not earlier.
