All eyes will be on Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic Wednesday when his team travels to American Airlines Arena to face his former team the Dallas Mavericks.
And while there’s quite a bit of buzz around the midweek tilt because of Doncic, Lakers fans got some good news not long before tipoff when the team updated its injury report.
Though the Lakers announced that rookie guard Bronny James was questionable for the game on Wednesday afternoon, they released a positive update on his status just four hours later, according to Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation.
“Jaxson Hayes (right hand contusion) and Bronny James Jr. (illness) have been upgraded to AVAILABLE for tonight’s game at Dallas,” Ward wrote.

James last appeared in L.A.’s 126-99 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 6. He played just two minutes, logging three points and a rebound.
That was the 20-year-old rookie’s first action in more than two weeks. He missed some time after the team’s 146-115 loss to the Chicago Bulls on March 22 and he’s been battling an illness over the last few days.
James has played sparingly this season, appearing in just 24 games with the Lakers and averaging 2.3 points and 5.7 minutes per night. He’s fared much better with the South Bay Lakers in the G League, where he’s averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game in 18 games.
