The NBA postseason has wrapped up. The Oklahoma City Thunder were crowned champions after a thrilling seven-game series win over the Indiana Pacers. Now, the 2025 offseason is officially underway.
Wednesday marks the first day of the 2025 NBA draft, but trade rumors have already taken over the headlines since the offseason began Monday morning.
One of the most active teams so far has been the Boston Celtics. After winning the title last season, the Celtics were dealt a major blow with a season-ending injury to Jayson Tatum. That setback has triggered a flurry of moves from the front office.
On Tuesday, Boston traded away Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday, signaling a shift in direction. Now, the buzz is that Jaylen Brown could be the next to go.
But Lakers veteran Markieff Morris isn’t buying it.
During an appearance on "Get Up," Morris responded bluntly to the speculation.
".@Keefmorris would be 'in awe' if the Celtics traded Jaylen Brown," an X post from the show said.

Brown remains under contract with Boston through the 2028-29 season. He would hit unrestricted free agency at age 33.
The 6-foot-6 guard was drafted third overall by the Celtics in 2016 out of California. He has spent his entire career in Boston, playing 603 games while averaging 19 points per game. He has scored 20+ points per game in each of the last six seasons.
In the 2024-25 regular season, Brown played 63 games and averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. During the 2023-24 playoff run, he appeared in 19 games and posted 23.9 points per contest, earning NBA Finals MVP in the Celtics' victory over the Dallas Mavericks. His final game of this season came in a Game 6 loss to the Knicks, where he scored 20 points in 32 minutes.
Despite recent trades, dealing Brown would be a stunning move for a franchise still considered a top contender in the East. And according to Morris, it’s a move that just doesn’t make sense.
