Landry Shamet returned to the hardwood on Monday Night, suiting up for the New York Knicks G-League affiliate Westchester Knicks.

The Knicks took home the 123-117 victory against Charlotte's affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm. It was the Knicks' sixth-straight win in the G-League Tip-Off Tournament.

Shamet came off the bench, playing just shy of 20 minutes. He posted 10 points, three rebounds, and an assist. He shot 4-of-10 from the field and two-of-eight from deep. Eight of his 10 points come during his first seven minutes of the contest. His first made three came from a few feet behind the top of the arc, with his second from the right corner.

Knicks Head Coach Tom Thibodeau said "I watched the game last night. We had several guys play well. It was encouraging to see him out there." Thibs further elaborated, saying "It's good to see him out there healthy again. Several things have to happen before he can play with us."

The Knicks waived Shamet in October after Shamet was injured trying to make a defensive play during preseason. After dislocating his right shoulder, he hoped to be able to rehab the injury without needing surgery.

Many suspected Shamet was a lock to make the big league club on opening night prior to the injury, especially given how Thibs talked about the veteran, especially valuing his experience as a teammate of Mikal Bridges and Cameron Payne.

Shamet averaged 10.8 points per game during the preseason, knocking down 2.3 threes per contest, while also adding 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and a steal per game.

His 7.5 three-point attempts per game were second on the team during preseason, trailing Duece McBride.

The Knicks will continue to monitor Shamet's recovery in the G-League. They previously signed Matt Ryan to fill Shamet's roster spot, however, the Knicks still have an open roster spot available for Shamet should he recover fully.

Ryan also appeared in Monday's contest, contributing 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
