Kristaps Porzingis is expected back at the Warriors’ facility Tuesday, but there is still no clear timetable for when he’ll return to the court.
Porzingis has been away from the team for the past two weeks because of an undisclosed health issue. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Monday that the veteran big man will be at Chase Center while Golden State is in Las Vegas for a preseason game against the Lakers.
“Yeah, he’ll be here tomorrow,” Kerr said, via Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area. “No update beyond that. But he’ll be in the building meeting with Rick [Celebrini] and the performance staff.”
Kerr also said he doesn’t yet know whether Porzingis will be available for the Oct. 21 regular-season opener against the Lakers.
“All that will be determined once we get him back here and have discussions and figure out where he is with all that stuff,” Kerr said.
Porzingis has remained in contact with the Warriors’ front office and Celebrini, according to Anthony Slater of ESPN.
The 31-year-old has dealt with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, or POTS, over the past two seasons. But there has been no indication that his current absence is related to that condition.
So for now, the Warriors are getting Porzingis back in the building. When they get him back on the floor is still another question.
