LaMelo Ball arrives to the Minnesota Timberwolves with a reputation of being one of the best young point guards in the league, combining a high level of skill with a never-dying motor. However, he also comes with a reputation of being a poor driver after being involved in multiple high-profile incidents during his time with the Charlotte Hornets.
And well, his father might be the first to troll him for it, per a video posted on X by Fullcourtpass. In it, LaVar can be seen conversing with his sons LaMelo and Lonzo, initially asking the former what vehicle he was driving these days.
“I know you got like 12 cars man. What you rolling in these days?” he said.

However, Lonzo quickly grabbed the opportunity to respond, leading to laughter from his father.
“Watch out!” he said.
LaVar promptly burst into laughter as the new Timberwolves man explained that he had employed a driver of late.
“He said watch out! Ohh you got a driver? They said you was too busy running into folks, man,” he said.
And well, the jokes are understandable. LaMelo had developed a beyond-belief reputation as one of the worst drivers around. Earlier, in February 2026, he had crashed his Hummer into a sedan while attempting to make a left turn.
Video footage from the scene showed the front wheel of his Hummer torn off. Ball was not injured. He got out of the truck and left the scene in a Lamborghini. The Timberwolves star had also previously been involved in a lawsuit after running over the foot of a 12-year-old boy, whose mother filed a case seeking $3.75 million for severe injuries and emotional distress.
The case has since been settled out of court. Regardless, that is hardly the tip of the iceberg, with social media users revealing a montage of incidents where LaMelo was seen driving recklessly, narrowly avoiding accidents at times.
And well, considering the regular animated antics of his father, there is little doubt that he gets regularly trolled by his family due to his driving. Meanwhile, Minnesota residents will be rejoicing upon learning that he has hired a driver.
