The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 on Thursday night, but the defeat still marked a historic moment for LeBron James.

The veteran superstar appeared in the 300th playoff game of his extraordinary career.

James delivered another productive postseason performance despite the loss. He finished with 23 points and six assists while continuing to shoulder a major offensive role deep into his 23rd NBA season.

Reaching 300 playoff appearances already underlines the remarkable longevity behind James’ career. Yet another statistic beyond that milestone arguably highlights even more clearly how unprecedented his place in NBA history has become.

LeBron James’ playoff games total stands far beyond the rest

While James became the first player ever to reach 300 playoff games, the truly remarkable detail emerges when comparing that number with the rest of NBA history.

Only nine players besides the 41-year-old have even managed to surpass 200 playoff appearances. That gap alone shows how dramatically the Lakers star has separated himself from generations of legendary players.

The closest active comparison still falls well short of James’ total. Former NBA guard Derek Fisher sits second on the all-time list with 259 playoff games played across his championship-winning career. That difference of 41 games effectively represents over an entire season of playoff basketball.

Considering the intensity and physical demands of postseason competition, James’ achievement becomes even more difficult to comprehend.

The other NBA legends who reached 200 playoff games

According to the NBA’s official records, Tim Duncan ranks behind Fisher with 251 playoff appearances. Robert Horry follows with 244 games, while Kareem Abdul-Jabbar finished his postseason career with 237 appearances.

Tony Parker played 226 playoff games during his career with the San Antonio Spurs. Kobe Bryant reached 220 postseason appearances, while Manu Ginobili finished with 218.

The iconic center Shaquille O’Neal played 216 playoff games across his Hall of Fame career, and Scottie Pippen rounds out the list after reaching 208 postseason appearances.
