The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be gearing up to build their team around Luka Doncic. They reportedly kept LeBron James in the dark about the team's sale, and they didn't offer him a contract extension or even discuss his future with the organization.
Multiple reports state that James isn't happy with the way the franchise has treated him after what he's helped accomplish since he arrived in Southern California.
With all the trade rumors floating around social media, NBA insider Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson took to social media to share the four potential trade destinations he's heard for the four-time NBA champions:
"Mavs, Warriors, Cavs, Clippers," wrote Robinson.

Robinson also wrote a report about James' potential arrival in Dallas, as the Mavericks have been keeping tabs on his situation for years now, according to Lakers insider Jovan Buha:
“I will say that there has been some LeBron-and-Dallas buzz going on a couple years now,” said Lakers insider Jovan Buha. “Remember in the summer of 2023, right after Dallas had traded for Kyrie, there was that rumor out there that LeBron was gonna go to Dallas on a vet minimum contract and team up with Draymond, and it was gonna be Luka, Kyrie, LeBron and Draymond. That, of course, did not happen. But there has been some buzz I will say in the general NBA ether over the last week or two with LeBron and Dallas.”
Robinson detailed that James has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he will essentially have to be on board with any move, regardless of the trade package and the destination:
"Let’s be clear — LeBron James has a no-trade clause. Any deal involving the King would require his direct approval," Robinson wrote.
Even if the Lakers manage to keep him around until his contract runs out, all signs point to this being the beginning of the end of the LeBron James era in Southern California.
Whether that will also be the end of his NBA career remains to be seen.
