LeBron James Gets Honest About Rare Scoreless First Half After Pistons Loss

LeBron James has done it all in his 23-year career. And he’s still bound to break more records should he suit up for a 24th season. But on this particular night against the Detroit Pistons, he failed to score a single point after the first half buzzer sounded.

LBJ went scoreless – yes, you read that right – in the first half of an NBA game. That’s just the third time it’s happened in his career, the last being in 2010. While he did end up with a near triple-double (12 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists), the Pistons halted LA’s season-high nine-game winning streak.

When asked about his struggles, LeBron James took the high road when explaining to reporters his thought process after the loss.

“It’s the role that I’m playing for the ballclub. In order for us to win ball games, it’s the role that I’m playing. And that’s just how the game was going,” LeBron James said after the game.

LeBron’s numbers have been down this season, comparable to his rookie year. But it’s still an impressive number for a guy who has played in the league for more than two decades. He knows the Lakers are prioritizing Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves on offense.

LeBron James is Not Chasing Individual Numbers Anymore

There’s no doubt that James wants to win another title before calling it quits. At 41, he understands that he may no longer be the number one option for a team. But the road of acceptance wasn’t easy for him, though.

“The team is most important… It is some sacrifice,” LeBron James said in a previous interview. “I know what I’m capable of still doing as an individual, but I’m able to adapt to what’s important for this team, and that’s the only thing that matters.”

If LeBron James truly wants to go out with a bang, then he should start by running back on defense and shun any broken fingernail injury that happened on the court.
