LeBron James Has Only Made 19 Of 107 Shots In Clutch Situation During His Career: 17.8% FG, 12.5% From 3-Pointers
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

LeBron James has struggled throughout his career to make clutch shots during regular season games as per stats.

Playing 20 seasons in the NBA is no small feat. But what's even better than being in the league for 20 years? Well, how about still being one of the best players in the NBA even after playing in the 20th season of your career? That's something that LeBron James has achieved.

LeBron James, 38, continues to surprise fans with his incredible longevity. At 38 years old, the list of James' achievements is long, and the King is only expanding it with his insane ability to play basketball.

But is there anything that even LeBron has struggled to do? It's certainly not gathering MVP points each season. So, is it not being a clutch player? While one would think that James has been a clutch player throughout his career, the stats tell a completely different story.

LeBron James' Shooting Percentage In The Clutch Is Not A Kind Sight

LeBron James made his debut in the NBA two decades ago, and throughout the course of his great career, he has been the first choice on every team that he has played on. Keeping that in mind, it's not a surprise when the going gets tough, LeBron's teammates rely on him to take the final shot during clutch situations.

But according to Stathead, since the 2003-04 NBA season, James has attempted 107 field goals during the last five seconds of a regular season game and has made just 19 shots. Yes, that translates to James having just a 17.8% FG and 12.5% from the 3-point line during his clutch time.

It is certainly surprising to see James having such low shooting percentages during clutch situations during his career. But at the same time, come playoff time, James flips the switch and has made several important clutch shots for teams. At times, those shots have decided the outcome of games as well.
