Most players in the league would definitely celebrate when they make the All-NBA team. Due to the new CBA, being named in one would guarantee a long-term contract – plus a ton of money. That’s why it’s baffling to know that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been selected to the exclusive team for 21 straight years.
But as good as he is, LBJ has struggled a bit this season. His numbers are down, averaging just 21-5-7 splits for LA. Maybe it has something to do with the sciatica injury that kept him out of the early part of the Lakers’ campaign. But make no mistake, those numbers are still pretty impressive for a 41-year-old. Might add that he’s in his 23rd year in the league as well.
However, due to the CBA’s new rule about playing at least 65 games to be included in any major award, LeBron’s streak of making the All-NBA team for 21 straight years is coming to an end. He won’t suit up against the Spurs due to left foot arthritis.

That’s unfortunate for LBJ. But what a streak that was. He’ll get a chance to make another All-NBA team next year, should he decide against retirement.
Could this be LeBron James’ last season in the league? Whether he would be playing for LA or another team, we’ll never know for sure. Even his own circle isn’t sure about his plans after this season ends.
“There are people who think this could be it…that he didn’t want to deal with the headache of announcing it. But he doesn’t know. He’s just going through with this thing. People who care about him a lot also don’t know what’s next,” according to a report by Sam Amick.
Realistically, LeBron can still play two or three years in the league. But does he really want to do that? Can’t fault him if he calls it quits soon. He’s already done it all, after all.
