Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been trying out golf this 2025 NBA offseason, and that includes watching golf tournaments to expand his knowledge of the game.

On Sunday, the Lakers forward was apparently tuned in to LIV Golf UK, which was won by Chile's Joaquin Niemann. While it was a historic outing for Niemann — who became the first player to win five times in a season in the aforementioned golf tour — it was Bubba Watson who caught the attention of James.

The 40-year-old James was particularly impressed by Watson's performance on Sunday, when he went on a six-hole stretch of going 8 under. Watson made two eagles after hitting driver off the deck both times during that span, a moment that left James in disbelief.

"You're ridiculous my friend," James wrote, along with three clapping emojis, as he shared a post featuring Watson's two driver off the deck and eagles.

While Bubba Watson failed to complete his comeback, finishing 14 under for second place, he certainly had one of the best highlights of the competition.

Aside from LeBron James' message, plenty of fans heaped praise on Watson for his display. It was the 46-year-old American golfer's best finish in LIV Golf.

"Honestly that was great. Take the DOD king title I’ll start using tees no problem here," a commenter wrote on Liv Golf's post about Watson's play. Another one said, "Such a legend."

"That 2nd eagle was just so nice and calculated," a viewer shared. A fourth user agreed, noting, "That second shot was actually unreal."

A fan added, "That’s why he has a gold jacket."

"Still the best ballshaper out there," a supporter remarked.

A social media user said in disbelief, "My GOODNESS."

As for James, hopes are high that he learned a thing or two from watching Watson. Perhaps fans will see the Lakers great try hitting a driver off the deck the next time he steps onto a golf course.
