USA TODAY Sports

On Monday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers  hosted the New York Knicks in California.

The Knicks won the game by a score of 114-109, and Jalen Brunson led the way with 29 points, four rebounds and three assists.

LeBron James finished his night with 25 points, ten rebounds, 11 assists and one steal while shooting 10/23 from the field and 2/8 from the three-point range in 39 minutes of playing time.

During the game, James made team history by moving up on the Lakers' all-time points list.

James moved ahead of Rudy LaRusso (8,231) for 14th on the list.

Following LaRusso, the next player for James to pass will be Vern Mikkelsen (10,063).

James is now averaging 25.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 54.1% from the field and 39.9% from the three-point range in 25 games.

The Lakers dropped to 15-12 in their first 27 games, which has them as the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Following the Knicks, they will play their next game on Wednesday evening when they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.
