The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing to address any discussions surrounding the future of their oldest player. LeBron James has expressed his desire to compete for a championship next season and wants the franchise to assemble a team that can support him in achieving that goal.

So far, their efforts have been geared towards bringing in younger prospects, as well as clearing cap space to target another star in the future. The expectation is that the 40-year-old will likely retire by then, which should give them a chance to pair another star alongside Luka Doncic.

However, all of this has compounded the situation for LeBron James. He wants to fight for a title, and does not believe the current roster is capable of doing that. To make matters worse for the Lakers, four teams reportedly reached out seeking a trade.

James has not spoken publicly about the situation. Instead, has focused on watching his son, Bronny James, play in the Summer League. To get some insight into this situation, SiriusXM NBA Radio brought the superstar’s agent, Rich Paul, on to discuss his close friend’s mindset.

There’s so many voices in today’s game in media and things like that, and everyone has a job to do. For us, let those people do their job. It’s not for us to rebuttal or to try to give clarity on what’s said, what’s not said. Focus is, ‘Hey man, enjoy your summer.’

Rich Paul said

These words indicate LeBron James is not taking to heart what fans and some members of the media are saying about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. His decision to opt in to his $52 million extension and these trade rumors have seen him receive a lot of brickbats.

Fans at Summer League go wild watching LeBron James pull in

LeBron James has spent much of his offseason recovering from the knee injury he suffered in the playoffs. Once he was better, he returned to working out with former teammate and close friend Kevin Love.

Before he starts his 2nd round of workouts, the 40-year-old was seen in Las Vegas where he spent time alongside wife, Savannah, and daughter Zhuri, to watch the eldest son, Bronny James, play in the Summer League.

A video clip is going viral on social media showing the Los Angeles Lakers superstar walking inside the Thomas & Mack Center. What made the video go viral was that hordes of fans of all age groups were going wild when they saw the all-time leading scorer in person.

They could not believe that one of the greatest of all time was in their midst. This was a different response to one that he experienced while making his way to the Fanatics Fest in New York. James knows he has his fair share of critics, therefore, nowadays maintains a nonchalant response to both groups of fans.

LeBron James attends Nas’ show in Vegas

When LeBron James spends time in a particular city, he usually schedules multiple events so that he does not have to overwork himself. While in Las Vegas, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar decided to add one more activity on his list.

Rapper Nas was also performing in Vegas. James, along with his wife, Savannah, made it to the front, shook hands, and walked out vibing to the Grammy Award-winning artist’s music. This marks the 2nd concert for the 4-time champion this offseason.

A few days earlier, he travelled to Puerto Rico to be a part of Bad Bunny‘s concert. Fans know the superstar has left close friend Drake‘s side, and is now taking time out to attend concerts of other rappers during this offseason.
