LeBron James has been having a solid year in the NBA, defying the odds with elite efficiency in his 23rd season. The Lakers star has also achieved notable milestones, including beating records set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Robert Parish, and Vince Carter. The father in James is having a terrific time as well, as both his sons are having a good year in their respective basketball leagues.
While Bronny James has helped the South Bay Lakers clinch the No. 1 seed in the NBA G League, Bryce James’ NCAA team, the Arizona Wildcats, has made it to the Final Four in the ongoing tournament. The highlight was that both of these monumental moments happened within an hour of one another.
Speaking about it during a postgame interview, LeBron James said, “It was totally awesome. I don’t know, man. Me and my wife went in the living room. I had Bronny’s game on the iPad sitting on the table, and then my wife had Bryce’s game on the TV, so we were watching both at the same time.”
He added, “I was watching Bronny go off, and I was also seeing Bryce celebrate with his teammates. They went to the Final Four. It was just super.”

And while Bryce James is a redshirt freshman playing a more behind-the-scenes role in the Wildcats’ victory, Bronny James made significant contributions for the South Bay Lakers, racking up 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Bronny has also had a productive year in the regular NBA, notably helping the Lakers with a crucial lead-extending 17-foot pull-up jumper during a recent game against the Indiana Pacers.
His contribution did not go unnoticed, earning praise from key Lakers figures, including his father.
Speaking to The Athletic about Bronny’s trajectory since bouncing back from a cardiac arrest in 2023 to climbing up the ladder and finding his own place in both the NBA and the G League, LeBron James expressed his pride.
“Especially knowing the path, you know, the road … So, just proud of him. I’m super proud of him. And he belongs. He belongs,” James said.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick was also full of praise while commenting on Bronny James after the March 26 game.
“It’s gotten significantly better. Our staff has a lot of confidence in him. Felt like this was a game we really needed him,” Redick said.
“I think the biggest thing with him is he’s got a lot of confidence right now,” he added.
