LeBron seemingly stunned by Booker’s comment before ejection

Devin Booker was ejected from Tuesday night’s showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns for two seemingly mundane technical fouls.

With a little over seven minutes remaining in the third quarter, Suns big man Deandre Ayton got called for a foul against LeBron James. Booker apparently didn’t approve and immediately said something to the ref.

That led to a whistle and a technical.

Seemingly frustrated, Booker then bounced the ball to the ref – prompting a second technical and subsequent ejection.

While most of the attention as it pertains to this incident was paid to the ostensibly ridiculous ejection, a few eagle-eyed viewers at home did notice something interesting.

James had a very strong reaction to whatever it was that Booker said prior to his first technical.

James’ recent comments regarding Booker made this whole situation all the funnier.

At the end of the day, the ejection didn’t matter. Phoenix emerged with a win and now boasts the No. 2 record in the West.

The Lakers, meanwhile, are struggling badly. For a second it looked like demoting Kyle Kuzma was enough to get the squad back on track after Anthony Davis’ untimely injury, but clearly that is not the case.

L.A. will need to figure something out, and quickly, or else things might get very ugly for the defending champs after the All-Star break.
