LeBron James Sends Blunt Message on Iconic $1 Million Rumor

One of the keys to LeBron James' illustrious 22-year NBA career has been how good of shape he has stayed in.

Even though he is 40 years old, James has maintained some of his elite athleticism, which has helped him win four NBA titles and become the NBA's all-time leader in points. For well over a decade now, the perceived reason that James has always been in pristine shape has been how much money he invests into his body each year.

In what has become somewhat of a mythical tale fact over the years, James was believed to have spent over $1 million on his body each year. While no one has really ever had the exact breakdown of whether it was workouts, training, recovery or food, that has always been the number.

When appearing on ESPN's "Pat McAfee Show" on Wednesday, James ended up disproving that rumor.

"Man I don't know where the hell that (expletive) came from," James said. "Yeah I don't know where that came from but I mean listen I do take care of my body. But I have no idea where the amount of money came from. But I do invest in my body for sure."

James cited soft-tissue treatments, massages and the use of a hypobaric chamber as a handful of ways he takes care of his body. While it's hard to imagine that these are cheap by any means, James clearly felt it necessary to set the record straight.

Regardless of what the dollar amount is, it's working. James has over 1,500 career NBA games under his belt and is still averaging 24.9 points per game this season. He and the Lakers will return to action on Wednesday as they will face off against the Indiana Pacers.
