LeBron James delivered a clear message about team fit following the Lakers’ latest win.
After Los Angeles beat the New Orleans Pelicans 111-103, James shut down talk that Luka Doncic, 26, needs to change his style. He said Doncic does not have to bend his game for anyone.
"Nah, Luka don't need to bend his game," James said. "Luka is twenty-what, how old is Luka? Twenty-seven? He's our twenty-seven-year-old franchise [player] with his ball playing. He don't need to bend his game. It's up to us to, to bend our game around him and figure it out. So, you know, we just try to be dynamic work off of him."
James explained the team must adjust around Luka and maximize his strengths.
"We know he's an unbelievable pick-and-roll player, unbelievable shot maker, he commands the defense," James said, praising Luka. "He got four eyes, sometimes six eyes on him, so it's up to us to put ourselves in the right position."

At 41, James made it clear he has no issue adapting his role.
"So it's not a problem for me, you know? It's not an issue for me to be able to do things that…," James said. "I don't know. I just don't think people watch basketball."
The Lakers saw that approach work on Tuesday night. James scored 30 points on efficient shooting and closed the game in the fourth quarter. He added eight rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and a block in 33 minutes. Over his last 12 games, James has averaged strong numbers while leading late-game execution.
