LeBron James is sending some words of encouragement to Caitlin Clark amid her disappointing health news.

The Indiana Fever superstar Clark announced in a lengthy social media post on Thursday night that she will not be returning to play this season. Clark has been out since mid-July with a groin injury and now won’t be able to come back for either the regular season or the playoffs.

In the wake of the news, the Los Angeles Lakers star James sent Clark a nice message. In a comment to Instagram, James expressed his well wishes to the 23-year-old.

“Minor setback for a MAJOR COMEBACK!!” James wrote. “Rest up, get healthy and be YOU!”

Clark only managed to play in 13 total games for the Fever this season due to both the groin injury and a prior quad injury. She also reportedly suffered a separate injury while attempting to work her way back from the groin issue. But Clark did help lead Indiana advance to eventually win the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup, and the team is also close to clinching an official playoff berth at 21-20 on the year.

Meanwhile, James and Clark are both Nike signature athletes and have already build a strong relationship of mutual admiration. James has publicly defended Clark against her haters before, and Clark has even mentioned before that she sees James as the NBA’s greatest player of all-time.
