Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made his inspiration for playing basketball even at age 40 abundantly clear.
LeBron James had always wished to be able to play alongside his son, Bronny James, and the Lakers made that possible by drafting the eldest of the James brood out of USC with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Now that Bronny James is in the NBA and trying to pave his own path, his father couldn't be more motivated.
LeBron James shared as much on Friday after he posted a photo of his son celebrating from the bench after he made a shot. In the caption, James wrote, "MY PURPOSE."
The moment was from the Lakers' Thursday game against the Portland Trail Blazers. LeBron James had just made a triple, and Bronny James let his father and teammate know how much he loved it.
Bronny James is slowly making his mark in the NBA G League, averaging 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists in seven games played in the Tip-Off Tournament. In two regular season games played with the South Bay Lakers, he has put up 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
While Bronny James has yet to play a significant role with the Lakers' main NBA roster, though, his presence alone and the work he's putting in continue to push LeBron James and keep him at the top of his game.
