LeBron James continues to defy logic. The 40-year-old superstar dropped 42 points on the Golden State Warriors Thursday night, joining Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to score 40+ in a game at age 40. The Lakers secured a 120-112 win at Crypto.com Arena, extending their winning streak to four games and improving to 10-2 in their last 12.

James wasn’t just filling up the scoreboard—he made his presence felt everywhere on the court. He ripped down a season-high 17 rebounds, dished out eight assists, and knocked down six three-pointers in a vintage performance that had the Lakers faithful on their feet.

Austin Reaves continued his strong play, chipping in 23 points, while Gabe Vincent found his rhythm from deep, drilling five threes on his way to 15 points. Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes each contributed 11, and Jarred Vanderbilt dominated the glass with 14 rebounds, helping the Lakers control the paint against a Warriors squad desperately trying to stay afloat in the Western Conference playoff race.

On the other side, Stephen Curry did everything in his power to keep Golden State in it, finishing with 37 points and seven rebounds. He caught fire in the fourth quarter, pouring in 19 points and drilling four three-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lakers' balanced attack.

Buddy Hield and Moses Moody each added 14 points for the Warriors, while Draymond Green and Pat Spencer chipped in 13 apiece.

With the win, the Lakers continue to build momentum at a crucial point in the season. And with LeBron still delivering all-time performances at 40, the championship window in L.A. might be open just a little longer than people expected.
