LeBron, Lakers come up clutch in Game 2 victory over Suns
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

There was a sense of urgency for the Lakers coming into Game 2. After dropping Game 1 in Phoenix, it was important for them to come out and even up the series with it heading back to L.A.

Another hard-fought battle between the two teams made for quite the spectacle, but the Lakers were ultimately able to avoid an 0-2 hole with a victory.

LeBron finished with 23 points and 9 assists for the night, while Davis dropped 34 points, 10 rebounds, and an impressive 7 assists.

For the Suns, Devin Booker showed out, scoring 31 points in 40 minutes of action.

The Lakers have been dealing with injury troubles all year long, which is a huge reason why they finished the regular season as the 7th seed in the West, and why they're playing this Suns team without home-court advantage.

All year long, LeBron James and Anthony Davis haven't seemed like themselves, and chemistry has been a major question mark. Some of those symptoms have shown in the playoffs, too.

So, if there's one thing these two games have revealed so far, it's that beating this Suns team will not be an easy feat. But so long as the Lakers have LeBron and AD, they will always have a chance.

And while nobody is sure how this season will end for the defending Champs, tonight's win may have been enough to stop counting them out.
