Andre Drummond recently exercised his $5 million player option to stay with the Philadelphia 76ers, but he may find himself on a different team next season.
According to The Athletic’s Tony Jones, the Philadelphia 76ers have been exploring Drummond’s trade market. The two-time NBA All-Star averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds on 50 percent shooting across 40 regular season appearances (23 starts) in 2024-25.
“If I were a Philly Sixers fan, I would be looking out for Andre Drummond. The Sixers have been trying to move him over the last 24 hours. Let’s see if they get it done,” Jones posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The Philadelphia 76ers are probably trying to move Andre Drummond to gain more financial flexibility, as the team is keen on re-signing Guerschon Yabusele and Quentin Grimes to new contracts this offseason.
On the other hand, the Philadelphia 76ers recently signed Trendon Watford to a two-year, $5.3 million contract, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Watford is coming off a productive 2024-25 campaign with the Brooklyn Nets, having averaged 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on 46.9 percent shooting from the field across 44 regular season games (six starts).
No one is more amped about the deal than Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey, who is a close friend of Watford, as he expressed his excitement on social media following the news.
