Lonzo Ball Issues Shocking Kevin Durant Trade Suggestion

Kevin Durant is expected to be one of the headliners on the trade market for the 2025 NBA offseason. If Giannis Antetokounmpo is not available, Durant would undoubtedly be the biggest name available.

Despite a brutal season for the Phoenix Suns overall, the 15-time All-Star still performed well individually. Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game, with shooting splits of 53-43-84.

Several teams are anticipated to be in the market for that one extra trade piece that puts them over the top as a contender this offseason. Lonzo Ball thought one organization in particular would really benefit from Durant's services.

Ball suggests unlikely trade suitor for Durant

With the likelihood of Durant staying in Phoenix being pretty low, the Suns are expected to explore their options this offseason with retooling around Devin Booker. A team pushing for a championship is thought to be the next home of the Suns forward.

Ball thought that team should be the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Bulls guard discussed the matter on an episode of The WAE Show.

"If the Wolves fall short, lowkey, [Kevin Durant] gets them over the hump," Ball said. "I'd give up [Rudy] Gobert for KD... I'm going [Anthony Edwards] at the one, KD at the two, [Jaden] McDaniels at the three, [Julius] Randle at the four, and Naz Reid at the five."

Ball's suggested lineup is unconventional, but perhaps some will find some intrigue with it. The talent of that group is certainly not lacking by any means.

The Suns will need much more from the Timberwolves than Gobert in any trade package. The French center is still under the contract for two more guaranteed seasons before a player option in 2027-28.

Eating up that contract and surrendering Durant would require a hefty price to be paid on the Timberwolves' part.
