The Dallas Mavericks know how to do a statue for their franchise legend the right way.
On Sunday the Mavericks unveiled an incredible 23-foot tall bronze statue of Dirk Nowitzki that features the Hall of Famer and NBA champion shooting his signature one-footed fadeaway jumper.
It is magnificent.

Nowitzki spent his entire 21-year NBA career with the Mavericks after being selected with the No. 9 overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft.
During his two-plus decades career he was one of the best players in the NBA and the best player in Mavericks franchise history, leading the team to the 2011 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.
The base of the statue features one sentence that is 21 letters in length (one letter for each year of his NBA career) that is perfectly fitting for the statue: "Loyalty never fades away."
Well done by the Mavericks.
