It's a light day on the sports calendar with only one NBA playoff game, one NHL playoff game and eight MLB games on the slate, but we can still find a bet we absolutely love. Let's head over to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals for our Thursday Look of the Day.
The Boston Celtics are set to take on the Indiana Pacers in Game 2 of the ECF, and we're looking to back Jrue Holiday after his stellar performance in Game 1.
The Celtics point guard put up 28 points, eight assists and seven rebounds on Tuesday night, and it could've been an even better statistical performance. Holiday recorded 13 potential assists in Game 1. Six of his eight dimes came on three-pointers, but the Celtics had an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance.
Boston, which was the best three-point shooting team in the NBA this year at 38.6 percent, made just 15 of its 45 attempts for a 33.3 percent clip. We expect that number to improve in Game 2 against a Pacers team that gives up a ton of open looks from deep.
Holiday will continue to run the offense and play heavy minutes in this series. He should be able to produce double-digit potentials without overtime, so we just need the Celtics to knock down those shots.
