The Los Angeles Clippers beat Memphis Grizzlies in a close game 114-110. Clippers small forward Norman Powell hit some big shots down the stretch.
Clippers point guard James Harden had a big role despite not shooting the ball great by nearly getting a triple double. Clippers power forward Derrick Jones Jr. also had a good game.
Ivica Zubac’s impressive feat
Clippers center Ivica Zubac dropped 20 points on 10/18 FG with 20 rebounds and three steals. He completely dominated the Grizzlies’ power forward Jaren Jackson Jr and center Zach Edey.
He is the 4th player in the NBA this season to go for a 20-20 game. The other three are Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, Knicks center Karl Anthony Towns, and Kings center Domantas Sabonis.
Ivica Zubac’s performance against Memphis
Zubac became only the 7th Clippers center to record multiple 20/20 games. He’s the first Clipper to put up those numbers since DeAndre Jordan in 2015.
Ivica Zubac was bullying the Grizzlies’ paint, grabbing all the offensive rebounds and scoring easily, especially in the clutch. He’s been quietly having a good season and deserves more recognition.
