The Los Angeles Lakers surged toward the top of the Western Conference late in the 2024-2025 NBA season, sparking hopes for a better playoffs outcome than last season.

On Tuesday, the organization took to social media to share a new update on its upcoming playoff schedule, revealing the latest dates for their first round series against Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Chris Finch and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The organization implored fans to "mark their calendars" as they released the latest NBA Playoffs update in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

"Mark your calendars, Lakers Playoff basketball is here," the Lakers wrote on X Wednesday.

The team's current playoff schedule includes five games in April (if necessary) against the Timberwolves with two other potential dates slotted for May.

The Lakers lost 4-1 last season to Nikola Jokic, former coach Michael Malone and the Denver Nuggets in the first round.

Prior to that, they were swept in the Conference Finals in 2024 by the same team.

The Lakers did not make the playoffs in 2022 and were beaten by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2021 playoffs.

For the Lakers to get back to their title winning ways, new addition Luka Doncic's play could make the difference.

Doncic and LeBron James give Los Angeles arguably the best duo in the Western Conference, but winning the opening series won't be easy against a young and hungry Timberwolves team led by the rising superstar Edwards.
