Lou Williams draws backlash for his embarrassing playoff prediction admission

NBA fan favorite Lou Williams caught some heat after he made an unflattering admission about one of his predictions for the 2025 playoffs.

On Tuesday, Williams appeared on his “Run It Back” show on FanDuel TV alongside Michelle Beadle and Chandler Parsons. Beadle asked the two former NBA veterans to give their predictions on the first-round series between the 4-seeded Indiana Pacers and 5-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite the Bucks being without Damian Lillard due to his blood clot issue, Parsons went with Milwaukee. Williams agreed with Parsons but also admitted that he has not seen much of the Pacers this season.

“I won’t even sit here on these people’s TVs and lie,” Williams said. “I haven’t watched a lot of Pacers basketball this year. … They got off to a slow start and I became disinterested.”

Several fans slammed Williams for being uninformed about a topic he gets paid to weigh in on. The Pacers were one of just nine teams in the NBA this season to tally at least 50 wins. But that apparently was not enough to keep Williams’ interest.

Williams is not the first NBA player-turned-analyst to admit that he doesn’t watch the games he’s supposed to have an opinion on. But at least he was honest enough to admit it right away.

This season alone, both Shaq and Charles Barkley have outed themselves for not doing their research while on the air.
