Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic filed a police report last night after his home was burglarized.
"No one was home at the time, and thankfully Luka and his family are safe," said Laura Beth Seager, who serves as Doncic's business manager. "Luka has filed a police report, and an investigation is ongoing."

“No one was home at the time and thankfully Luka and his family are safe," his business manager Lara Beth Seager said. "Luka has filed a police report and an investigation is ongoing."
The development exacerbates an already challenging week for Doncic, who suffered a left calf strain against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day. The five-time NBA All-Star is expected to be sidelined for at least one month. The Mavericks point guard has had a brilliant season so far. After winning the league scoring title in the 2023-24 campaign, he is averaging a career-high 2.0 steals to go with 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game.
Dallas occupies the fourth seed in the Western Conference at 20-11 overall and hopes for Doncic's speedy return to the court as the regular season rolls on. The team is 7-2 without its All-NBA guard in the lineup this season.
News of professional athletes falling victim to burglary and intruders has absorbed headlines in recent months. Earlier this month, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown briefly stepped away from the team to attend to his mother, who was in her home when thieves invaded her residence.
"Obviously, my mother's security is of the utmost importance to me, and that's been compromised," Brown said in the aftermath of the break-in. "So, it's been a tough week."
In September, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley's home was burglarized while he was at a Minnesota Vikings game. In November, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis was a victim of a break-in.
In the NFL, the homes of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were broken into this season.
This trend has been alarming for athletes. As the wave of break-ins has intensified recently, both the NFL and NBA have encouraged players to take stricter precautions to safeguard their homes.
