Luka Doncic delivers hilarious response to question about competing in next year's dunk contest

A day after G-Leaguer Mac McClung stole the show at the NBA's slam dunk contest, Luka Doncic hinted at possibly competing in the event down the line during Sunday's All-Star Game.

After slamming home an uncontested two-handed jam, TNT play-by-play announcer Brian Anderson asked a mic'd up Doncic if he's planning to throw his hat in the slam dunk ring next season. Doncic's response was priceless.

"I'm thinking two or three years," Doncic said. "I gotta get the bounce up."

Doncic's tongue-in-cheek response aside, McClung's dominant win Saturday night has piqued the interest of several high-profile names who might breathe even more life into the once-beloved competition.

Following McClung's jaw-dropping performance, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry speculated on social media that he might "get the dunk contest trophy right quick." Curry already has a three-point contest title and an All-Star Game MVP award under his belt, so he only needs a dunk contest win to complete the trifecta.

If Curry isn't realistic enough, emerging 22-year-old power forward, Zion Williamson told Complex Sports that he's putting "heavy consideration" into participating in the dunk contest. Fans chopping at the bit to see Williamson do some insane dunks might not have to wait long. Williamson added that if he's going to do it, he'll "probably" compete next year.

If either Curry or Williamson does enter into next year's event, McClung will be there to defend his crown. After receiving perfect scores on three of his four dunks to become the first Philadelphia 76ers player to win the dunk contest, McClung is taking on all comers, telling reporters, "whoever wants to" when asked who he'd like to see challenge for his spot.
