The Los Angeles Lakers are all set to take on the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA preseason.
The Los Angeles Lakers fell to a 1-3 record in the NBA preseason as Jordan Goodwin led the Phoenix Suns to a dominant win.
The Lakers are now scheduled to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in a much-anticipated matchup.
After all, the Mavericks are Luka Doncic’s former team, and it’s expected to be an emotional night for the 5x NBA All-Star.
Last season, Doncic was in tears when he faced the Mavericks. While Luka has settled in with the Lakers, it is still expected to be an emotional game for him.
Speaking of the matchup, Doncic shared his honest opinion with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
“I mean, it’s obviously going to be something. Obviously I’m going to feel something every game I play against them. I am kind of starting a new chapter here,” Doncic said.
He added: “It’s the preseason, but it’s always going to be something. I don’t know how it will go.”

Considering Doncic gave seven years of his NBA career to the Mavericks, it’s only natural for him to feel emotional when facing off against his former team.
The Mavs are still facing the consequences of trading Doncic, but both sides are slowly moving on.
Aside from Doncic, one would assume that the Lakers vs. Mavericks game would be special for Anthony Davis.
Despite winning the only ring of his career with the Lakers, Davis has already moved on. The Unibrow is treating the matchup as any other preseason game.
To be honest, it’s not a surprise as Davis recently revealed he was unhappy with the Lakers.
At the end of the day, it will be interesting to see who will have a better stat line between Doncic and Davis, even if it’s just the preseason.
