After a disappointing first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers are facing an offseason with many questions to be answered. The team's early elimination intensified scrutiny on their roster and coaching strategies, with some critics particularly focusing on the performance and conditioning of their star acquisition, Luka Doncic.

The midseason trade that brought Doncic to Los Angeles was one of the most significant in recent NBA history. LA acquired Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a future first-round pick.

While the trade aimed to improve the Lakers' championship aspirations, the team's early playoff exit has led to discussions about its long-term benefits. Despite being the team's leading scorer in the series, Doncic's physical fitness and defensive efforts have been brought to question, prompting discussions about his commitment to winning.

Following Lakers' postseason disappointment, however, reports have emerged about changes Doncic has made ahead of next season. Jason Gallagher, a well-connected NBA commentator, shared insights on "The Dumb Zone" podcast about the Slovenian superstar and the moves he's been making to get in better shape

“I have heard from folks that are pretty honest about the conditioning stuff that Luka has already begun a clean state, starting anew, is in this mindset of changing a lot about himself," he revealed. "I've heard it before, but not from specific people that have been critical of him."

Doncic's dedication to enhancing his physical fitness will be a welcoming development for the Lakers. The team's management and coaching staff have emphasized the importance of conditioning, with head coach JJ Redick highlighting the need for the roster to be in "championship shape."

Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists in 28 games for the Lakers.
