As a kid growing up in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Luka Doncic once dreamt of playing in the NBA. In a small country with a population of only two million, many Slovenian kids have tried to chase that dream. Goran Dragic and Bostjan Nachbar have paved the way before. However, neither was as impactful as Luka has been in the league.

One of Doncic’s idols growing up was LeBron James, who now happens to be his teammate in Los Angeles. He’s been open about his admiration for LBJ, even going as far as securing a signed jersey from his idol in his rookie year in Dallas. But despite LeBron’s uncertain future in LA, Luka opened up on what it felt like playing alongside the 23-year veteran on the same team.

“Honestly, I mean, just being like part of his journey, you know, it’s been amazing. I came into the league like watching him play. My first game against him, like it was a dream come true. So, now just being his teammate, it’s insane,” Luka Doncic on playing with LeBron James.

There’s no doubt that both share a mutual admiration for each other. However, there were times when they didn’t look in sync on the court. Plus, LeBron might have felt threatened a bit because he’s no longer the poster boy in LA.

While seeing the two play on the same team has been a treat, we’re curious to see how Luka Doncic fares when he isn’t as conscious of sharing the spotlight with LeBron.

Big Men Around NBA Want to Play With Luka Doncic

It’s quite easy to fathom that Luka Doncic loves to play alongside any rim-attacking big man. Those kinds of bigs who can run swiftly on the court and catch lob passes? The 26-year-old superstar’s passing game thrives whenever a big like that is paired with him.

That’s why it is unsurprising to know that Tim MacMahon reported that several big men around the league want to go to LA. They want to catch those easy passes from Luka. And they want their careers to take off because, you know, it’s the Lakers.

If you can thrive in LA, you can thrive anywhere.
