Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic gave fans a closer look at the team dinner held during the squad’s trip to Slovenia, sharing photos from the gathering on his Instagram story on Thursday. Austin Reaves and Bronny James were among the Lakers featured in the pictures.
The dinner was part of a team-bonding trip Doncic organized in his home country. Doncic reportedly chartered a plane for 14 Los Angeles players to travel to Slovenia. The group’s itinerary included dinner at Doncic’s favorite restaurant, fishing at Lake Bled and playing golf.
The trip comes at a crucial point for the Lakers, with Doncic now taking on an even larger leadership role after LeBron James left in free agency to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
Doncic has already become a central figure in Los Angeles’ offseason plans, as the team builds a roster designed around him. The Lakers retained Reaves on a four-year, $180 million contract and acquired center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in a four-year, $130 million sign-and-trade. The Kessler deal also included two unprotected first-round picks and two first-round pick swaps.
Los Angeles added several other players, including Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Kevon Looney, Matisse Thybulle and Ziaire Williams.
Doncic enters the 2026-27 season as the Lakers’ offensive centerpiece after averaging a league-best 33.5 points per game in 2025-26. He also recorded 8.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 36.6% from three-point range.
The Slovenia gathering is not Doncic’s first team-building initiative since joining Los Angeles. He previously organized a Porsche Driving Experience for the Lakers in October 2025, but this minicamp carries more weight as he heads into his first full season as the undisputed face of the organization.
