Luka Doncic's Behavior Toward JJ Redick Draws Attention

Luka Doncic is having a lot of fun with the Los Angeles Lakers under head coach JJ Redick. That much is clear from the team's latest practice.

The Slovenian star, who is averaging an NBA-leading 34.7 points, along with 8.7 rebounds and 8.8 assists, turned a lot of heads on Tuesday following his interaction with Redick as the Lakers enjoyed an off day for the NBA Cup final.

Doncic and Redick got into a half-court shooting contest, and the 26-year-old guard absolutely destroyed his coach. Out of four attempts each, Doncic missed just one and flawlessly sank the other three, with the ball not hitting the rim in those makes. As for Redick, he missed all his shots.

What stood out from the moment was their banter toward each other, with Doncic even trying to convince Redick to continue their competition when the Lakers coach was ready to give up.

"Luka's mind games are next level. JJ fell for it hook, line, and sinker," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Luka and JJ banter is pure gold lol."

"It's always entertaining to see the back-and-forth between Luka and JJ. Their chemistry adds an exciting dynamic to the game, making every moment more memorable for fans," a fan added.

"'One more come on, you can't give up now.' That's a coach abuse," a supporter remarked, referencing Doncic's message to hook Redick from continuing their challenge.

A follower stated, "jj just can’t say no to Luka."

"Drama with luka and jj again today," a poster shared.

Doncic, Redick and the Lakers coaching staff often do half-court shooting competitions, even during pregame warmups. Clearly, it has helped the star guard get closer to his coaches.

Sure enough, it will be interesting to see if Redick will be able to get back at Doncic the next time they do a shooting competition.

The Lakers return to action on Thursday against the Utah Jazz, so it will be interesting to see if they compete again before the game tips off.
